Loved!

Loved!

April 17, 2020 by Joe D. Ballard

Years ago, I was on the floor praying to God in my bedroom and pouring my heart out asking God to tell me that He loved me.  Just like you need to hear those around you say those three words, you also need to hear God say it from time to time.  As I was praying with my door closed asking God to tell me, my bedroom door suddenly flew open and my four year-old daughter came in and laid over my back.  As I tried to keep praying thinking she would soon leave, I heard her say these words, “I love you Daddy.”  It took me a little while, but I finally made the connection—that was God speaking to me through my daughter telling me that He loved me.  Oh, let your heart be open to hear God speak His love to you.  A few years later, I received a call from my brother and wasn’t able to talk at the time, but he left a message.  He said, “Hey Joe, this is your brother Dave, I don’t need anything, I just wanted you to know I love you.  You don’t have to call me back.  I just wanted you to know I think you’re awesome.”  My brother is the most encouraging person I know.  Once again, I knew that was God speaking through my brother to me.  One of the things God wants to say to you is, “I love you!”  He said it once on the cross loud and clear.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

“The LORD has appeared of old to me, [saying:] “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.” Jeremiah 31:3

You may not always feel loved because of the overwhelming circumstances God allows you to go through, but even then you are loved.  Do you ever tell anyone you love them?  Who knows whether that person has been asking God to tell them He loves them and all He wants to do is use your mouth to say it.  Ask God to tell you He loves you and when you hear it out of someone else’s mouth, you should be motivated to let those three powerful words come out of your mouth.
