This may be hard to grab a hold of, but a time is coming when your current prayer life will not be sufficient to hold you in peace and keep you from trembling in fear. There are things coming into your life (all of our lives) that will require greater prayer, meaning more time in prayer, more sincerity in prayer, and more begging in prayer. Life comes at us in waves of trouble and difficulties, so our prayers must always rise to what ever level of difficulty you find yourself in. One man said, “We live in desperate times, but the saints of God are not yet desperate.” You must know that God will allow those hard things to come into our lives to produce a greater prayer life. He allows difficult seasons to get our attention, but also to advance our relationship with Him and witness for Him.
EFPJames wrote: “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16
There is no short list for the number of difficulties that come our way. Paul wrote to Timothy about the perilous times of the last days, but where are the praying Christ-followers? We know that the saints of God living in the Ukraine have commenced in greater prayers to the Father. Those whose child is barely hanging on to life have not left the throne room of God. Those who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening disease have verbally cried out to God in greater prayer.
Psalm 40:1. “I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry.”
Psalm 56:9. “When I cry out to You, then my enemies will turn back; this I know, because God is for me.”
A great shaking is coming and that great shaking should be met with greater prayer from the children of God. That great shaking by God in this world is the only way to cause a great awakening in the saints of God. Truth is, we need the shaking and we need the difficulties to increase and to come directly into our lives, otherwise we never draw nearer to the Father and we never see His hand strengthening and delivering us. Whatever you do, don’t get stuck in your current prayer life, be able, willing and ready to move into a season of greater prayer to the Father. Let your prayers rise up to meet every trial and difficulty that comes your way.
